In development. Planned launch: April 2027.

Visit the site. Find the clues. Piece history back together.

Turn every heritage visit into a journey of discovery.

Cương Vực is a mobile app for young travellers. At each stop you look closely at real details, solve a short challenge and collect a clue. At the end of the journey you use your clues to piece a historical story back together.

First chapter: the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long, Hanoi.

One visit, four steps.

  1. Choose a site and a route

Find a heritage site, check opening hours and get directions. Follow a suggested route for free, or a route built around your interests in the premium version.

  2. Look closely to solve challenges

Every stop has a challenge. The answer is in a real detail in front of you: a pattern, an inscription, a trace of the past.

  3. Collect clues

Each challenge you finish gives you a clue and a character card. Travelling with friends? You can look and solve together.

  4. Piece the story together

At the end of the journey, use your clues to put a historical story back together. Get the order right and the real story appears.

You are the History Keeper. The Lạc bird shows the way.

The flow of history has been shuffled. As the History Keeper (Thần Sử), you visit heritage sites to find lost memories and put them back in the right place. The Lạc bird (Chim Lạc) flies with you, points the way, reminds you when you miss a detail, and celebrates when you find the answer.

Three labels on every piece of content

  • Sourced factA historical fact with a source.
  • IllustrationA reconstruction to help you picture the past. It is not an original record.
  • Game ruleA rule of the game, not history.

The History Keeper and the Lạc bird are fictional game characters. The Lạc bird is inspired by the patterns on Đông Sơn bronze drums.

First on-site trial

On 31 October and 1 November 2026, we are inviting people to try the journey at the Citadel. We will share results once we have gathered them.

Cương Vực is an independent student project. We do not yet have a formal agreement with the managers of the site.

History has a place for you.

Sign-up for the first trial is currently in Vietnamese only. It is a short multiple-choice survey, and you can leave your email at the end if you would like to be invited. You can use your browser's translate feature to read it.
